A few good reasons behind a few good tees
I didn’t set out to create a fashion label. I want to put wool in front of more consumers.
I wanted simple, go-to tees made of wool — not synthetic “performance” blends or plastic-heavy basics. I wanted natural fibre gear that looked good enough for day-to-day wear but performed well enough for the weird in-between moments: hot car, cold wind, late meeting, long drive.
And I didn’t want dozens of options. I wanted something definite. Black only. (How Melbourne!) Three cuts. That’s it. A tee, a long sleeve, and a polo — all made from superfine Australian Merino wool.
It’s wool, because I’m in wool
I’m part of this wool community — as a professional and a grower. Wool isn’t a trend to me. It’s part of my daily life. I work in the Australian wool industry supporting farmers and woolgrowers, supporting responsible supply chains, and guiding brands through traceability and certification. I know the paperwork, the growers, the real impact.
And at home? We run a small flock of Merinos on our family farm. First-generation, small batch. But hands-on and committed.
IT’S WOOL is built from that world — practical, proven, and good enough to wear every day.
Not a brand. A decision.
IT’S WOOL isn’t about seasonal trends or big collections. It’s about making it easy to choose wool — without overthinking it.
It’s built on everything I know about wool from working in the industry, supporting growers, audits, and supply chains. And from wearing it myself, every day. Once you get used to how wool works — the way it breathes, regulates your temperature, and resists odour — synthetics just don’t feel right anymore.
This isn’t merch. It’s the hidden menu.
It’s the kind of kit people in the know appreciate — like a perfect local coffee spot, or the road that never shows up on tourist maps. You know it when you find it.
Why partner with IO Merino?
Because they’ve been doing this for over 140 years, and they’re very good at it. They make the fabric. They handle the printing, packaging, and distribution. That means I didn’t have to build a factory, buy printers, or stockpile packaging just to start. Your gear ships from their factory. Made properly. No overproduction, no middlemen, no garage full of unsold sizes.
This way, I get to focus on design, story, and community — and your order is fulfilled by an experienced team, fast and reliably.
Why wool?
Because it’s better. For your skin, for your comfort, and for the planet — especially when you actually wear it.
Wool is natural, renewable, and biodegradable. It resists stink, handles heat and cold, and lasts longer than most synthetics when cared for properly. IT’S WOOL is about making that choice simple: black, versatile, and well cut.
Who’s it for?
You, if you’re tired of too many choices.
You, if you like gear that earns its keep.
You, if you don’t want to look outdoorsy just to wear something functional.
And especially if you’ve ever thought, “I’d wear this every day if it were just made better.”
Just good wool. That’s all.
IT’S WOOL is a small range, but it’s big on intention.
Black. Three cuts. Two genders. One fibre.
Shared by someone who lives in the wool industry, and made possible by a supply chain that’s been doing this a long time.
Thanks for supporting something simple, and grounded.
