Wool& Rowena STRETCH Swing Dress [pockets!]

Wool& Rowena Dress Merino Review at samanthawan.com.au

If you’re feeling a bit of dejavu – it’s because this beauty got a fabric update on the original Rowena! Still with pockets and still buttery soft and ready to tick all the boxes for sustainable fibre, less laundering and slow fashion.

For the wool-nerds like me, they are still using 17.5 micron Merino wool – 75% of it (losing 3% on the original) and with 1% less nylon (at 21%) for the inclusion of 4% spandex – increasing the weight to 200gsm (40gsm more than the original)

“rowena swing dress: the pocketed, long-sleeve, merino dress in a flattering fit that wants to be worn every day of the week, dressed up or dressed down.” Wool&

I was advised the dress fits true to size, however if wanting a more snug fit on the arms – to try a size down. The new fabric was lending itself to more of a drape. Being that it was coming into summer and looking like a hot one, I stuck with ordering a small.

Every little bit helps!

I’m around 155cm tall (/short) and there was definitely a bit more length to the dress, but not in a bad way. I felt with the extra length and the drape, actually made the swing-style dress easier to wear. No belt! I’ve also being actively trying to steer clear of black – see, olive green!

The Rowena is shaping up to be a summer-time staple.

Unlike the black, the green lends itself to a more casual style, easily workable for a quick cafe catchup or a day by the pool. I’m expecting it to transition easily into the cooler weather – pair it up with a vest, leggings and boots!

Do you think this dress is wearable for summers with no air conditioners?

Hi Michelle, the Merino fibres are known for their natural temperature regulating and moisture wicking abilities. I would personally say very wearable for summers with no aircons. The moisture wicking is able to draw perspiration away from the skin so you stay dry!

As for the fit, the dress is very flowy around the body but in terms of the arms perhaps go for a looser fit or (as I do) roll up your sleeves. Hope this helps!
